The age-old question: who is chosen by our Heavenly Father?
Listen in today to discover the truth in His word.
First off, the Jews are the original chosen ones. The nation of people that YHWH chose to be His people.
Deuteronomy 14
For you are a people holy to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
Then you will see throughout the Word that YHWH allowed sojourners to enter into the fold along with His Chosen Ones.
Deuteronomy 10
For Adonai your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty and awesome God, who has no favorites and accepts no bribes. He secures justice for the orphan and the widow; he loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. Therefore you are to love the sojourner, since you were sojourner in the land of Egypt. You are to fear Adonai your God, serve him, cling to him and swear by his name. He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things, which you have seen with your own eyes. Your ancestors went down into Egypt with only seventy people, but now Adonai your God has made your numbers as many as the stars in the sky!
That means that He grafted us in from the very beginning. Way before Yeshua came on the scene in human form. Way before Paul mentioned it in the book of Romans. Yeshua is in the story from the beginning. He came in human form as the Son of YHWH many years later to die for our sins. You will find Him throughout the Torah books.
Study them and see. So aside from the Jews being His chosen people, how do we know which sojourners are chosen? Does pre-destination exist? If so, why should we even try to be good and serve Him if we aren’t chosen.
My question is, how do you know if YHWH hasn’t chosen you? We must have faith that He has. Yeshua came that all should not perish. 2 Peter 3
1 Peter 2
But you are a chosen people, the King’s cohanim, a holy nation, a people for God to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. If we don’t have faith, there is no hope.
Hebrews 11
He grafted in anyone who “chose” to follow Him. Just because the Jews were His chosen people group, it doesn’t mean that all are not welcome into the kingdom.
Consider this: What about the ones that were in the promised land that YHWH told them to destroy? Remember the sojourners/foreigners that chose to join YHWH’s people group? Where do you think they came from? Other nations/people groups/tribes. YHWH was telling them to destroy the ones who chose to worship idols and live in sin. Everyone had a choice of who to serve. YHWH tells us to Love Him and love our neighbors. ( Mark 12) That’s what He has called us to do. Do as the Disciples did; share the good news. Loving our neighbors by His Word, means to share Truth, share salvation through Yeshua. Yeshua didn’t tell us to share only the good news.
In world terms, the term sharing the gospel means to discard the Old Testament and focus on the first four chapters of the New Testament. That’s not what YHWH said to do in Deuteronomy. He said to follow my statues and commands. (Leviticus 26)
Yeshua later in human form shared the 2 greatest commandments (that came from the summary of 10). He was repeating what His father said. Not what man said. So, are you chosen? Yes, we are all chosen. YHWH gives us the opportunity to choose Him. Thereby bonding the relationship.
So the real question is… Do you choose Him?
Did God choose me? Who is chosen?
Women have always been wondering since the beginning of time: Did God choose me? Who is chosen? These are valid questions that we will attempt to answer through scripture today. Take comfort in knowing that you are not alone in your questioning, but instead part of a long lineage of women who have also sought out answers to these tough questions. Thank you for joining me on this journey as we explore what the Bible has to say about God’s chosen ones.
The chosen people of God are those who have been called according to His purpose – Romans 8:28
God has chosen to call a special group of people according to His purpose. These individuals are obedient to His commands, no matter the cost. They may be misunderstood, but they remain steadfast in faith, undeterred by the criticism of their peers. They are guided by grace and show love to even their adversaries while they stand strong in their convictions. Such people, brave and humble at the same time, are incredibly precious in God’s eyes and the foundation of His most special plan for mankind. Romans 8:28 reminds us that all those who accept God’s call can have complete assurance that we receive more than we ever hoped for or dreamed possible – a place among the chosen people
We are all chosen by God to be His children – Ephesians 1:4-5
Ephesians 1:4-5 serves as a reminder of how special each and every one of us is. God has chosen us, His children, to have a distinct and invaluable role in His larger plan. Though we may not always understand why we are given certain trials or hardships to endure, we should take comfort knowing that whatever comes our way is being allowed by our Lord for an important purpose. We are all God’s beloved children blessed with the assurance that He wants the very best for us. Today, let us be encouraged by this powerful passage and remember how special we all are to Him.
As His children, we are heirs of God and joint heirs with our Messiah – Romans 8:17
As children of the Almighty God, we have been blessed with a unique inheritance. It is a spiritual inheritance that no one can take away from us. Romans 8:17 shows us that this inheritance includes being joint heirs with Yeshua our Messiah! We are heirs in the truest sense of the word, sharing in every spiritual blessing meted out by our Heavenly Father. This knowledge should fill us all with an assurance and peace that comes from knowing we have an eternal inheritance we can always rely on. Thanks be to God for His great love for us and His promise of an abundant future for all those who believe in Him.
We were chosen before the foundation of the world – Ephesians 1:11-12
These verses in Ephesians teach us that God had a specific plan for our lives even before the world began. It gives us hope to look forward to our predetermined divine purpose, as we are reminded of how much God loves and cherishes us. This is encouragement for us to never give up, no matter what limitation or obstacle we may face in this life, knowing that God has already chosen us before the foundation of the world – and His plans cannot be thwarted! Let’s live with confidence, trusting in His sovereignty by placing questions and anxieties under His grace; for He has prepared good works for each one of us to do. That is something truly marvelous to be thankful for.
Because we are chosen, we can have hope and a future – Jeremiah 29:11
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of the truth that, as people chosen by God, our hope and our future both lie in Him. Regardless of how difficult things may seem today, we can have faith that a higher power is at work, orchestrating our lives for good. It is important to remember that we are never alone – God has promised to direct our paths and lead us into a greater destiny. We only need to turn to Him in humble prayer to find peace and joy worth more than all the things this world could ever offer. By having faith and trusting in God Almighty, we can have hope even in the midst of life’s most daunting struggles.
As Christians, we have been chosen by God to be His children. This gives us hope for the future because we know that He has a plan for our lives. As His children, we are also heirs of God and joint heirs with Yeshua our Messiah. This means that we will inherit everything that belongs to Him. Because we are chosen, we can have hope and a future. So if you are feeling lost or struggling right now, remember that you are not alone. You were chosen by God for a purpose and He loves you dearly. Trust in Him and turn back to Him. Study His Word so that you can know Him better and follow His will for your life.
I invite you to search the Truth yourself. Test it. (1 Thessalonians 5:21)
Please go to your Bible and study the entire story. See firsthand what His word says and what He wants to show you. I always check several versions to allow the Spirit to show me the difference and truth. I recommend you do the same.
Enjoy pondering that thought today!
God bless you
