There has been division in nations and people groups since the beginning of time. Yeshua died to remove that division. Why is it still here?
Galatians 3 – There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And, if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
Did you know that the term “nations” in the Bible is referring to people groups, not countries? Since the beginning of time, there has been a division between nations/people groups. YHWH selected His chosen people, the Jews. But, He also chose to adopt those who would believe in Him and follow Him. In the Torah (the first five books of the Bible) Those who were adopted in were referred to as sojourners and foreigners. Once you are adopted into the family of YHWH you are officially an Israelite. You don’t have to become Jewish to be a Messianic follower of Yeshua. Nor does a Jew have to become a Christian to follow Messiah. We are Messianic believers, we are followers of Yeshua – who is the son of our God, YHWH.
When Yeshua died for our sins, the veil in the Temple literally tore in half from top to bottom. Thereby removing the separation between us and YHWH and the separation of Jews and Gentiles. (Matthew 27)
Ephesians 2
You who were once far off have been brought near through the shedding of the Messiah’s blood. For he himself is our shalom—he has made us both one and has broken down the m’chitzah which divided us by destroying in his own body the enmity occasioned by the Torah, with its commands set forth in the form of ordinances. He did this in order to create in union with himself from the two groups a single new humanity and thus make shalom, and in order to reconcile to God both in a single body by being executed on a stake as a criminal and thus in himself killing that enmity.
YHWH did not create a new law, Messiah didn’t come to abolish YHWH’s law (Malachi 3)
Paul is imitating Yeshua (Ephesians 5)
The change Paul is referring to is that we are no longer subject to the doctrine and ordinances that were added to YHWH’s law. You can choose to follow YHWH’s law in the Torah or man-made law that was added to the Torah. You can choose to be one with Him and all His followers, or you can choose to stay divided and without His shalom peace.

Ephesians 2 says
You are no longer foreigners and strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s family. You have been built on the foundation of the emissaries and the prophets, with the cornerstone being Yeshua the Messiah himself.

Why was the significance of the veil being torn when Yeshua died?
As women, we are constantly bombarded with messages telling us that our worth is based upon our appearance. The media portrays a false standard of beauty that leaves many of us feeling inadequate and unworthy. We are told that we must diet, wear the latest trends, and perfectly groomed at all times in order to be considered valuable. But what if I told you that there is another way to feel worthy? A way where your value isn’t contingent upon how you look on the outside, but rather on your heart and through a personal relationship with your Lord and Savior Yeshua? In this blog post, we will explore the significance of the veil being torn when Yeshua died and how it directly proves your worth to the Father. When Yeshua died on the cross, He fulfilled Old Testament prophecy
At the moment Yeshua died on the cross, a sacred prophecy that had been written centuries before was fulfilled. Zechariah 12:10, which describes the Messiah being pierced and beaten, spoke of a sacrifice and victory that would come with it. We are reminded of the immense love that God has for us and the courage of Yeshua our Messiah when He chose to die as He did. This is a great hope for all believers who have put their trust in Him to receive salvation and eternal life. In His death there was freedom for us from sin, and in His resurrection – victory over death itself. Rejoice knowing you can reach out and rest in the assurance of God’s merciful embrace through faith in His son, Yeshua our Messiah.
The tearing of the veil signified that …
In Mark 15:38, the bible tells us that when Yeshua our Messiah breathed his last breath, there was a great earthquake and a loud tearing of the veil that separated us from the presence of God. This is an incredible moment in scripture, as it signifies so much – namely that God’s wrath against sin had been satisfied through the death of our Messiah, and now access to the Father’s presence is available to all who repent and believe in Yeshua. What an amazing truth to meditate on – God loves us so much that He made a way to atone for our sins once and for all. We can take comfort knowing that He desires intimacy with us and by trusting in Him, we can rejoice in the gift of a relationship with Him. What a blessing to have His unconditional love!
This event also symbolized the end of …
As this event marked the end of the Mosaic covenant (the law of God through Moses), we can now embark on a new journey with God through Yeshua our Messiah. He opened up a path to an intimate relationship with Him that was not available before in the way it is now. Yeshua didn’t abolish God’s law, He came to uphold it. However, His death and the tearing of the veil gave us for the first time, a way to approach the Father through Yeshua. Our Lord provided us a way to experience His deep love and care for us, what a blessing. For all of us that accept Yeshua as our Savior, what could be more joyous? Yeshua made it possible for us to approach the Most High with humility and grace, and He receives us eagerly. Let’s celebrate in the knowledge of this wonderful newfound covenant and honor our Messiah who makes it possible!
The tearing of the veil is a powerful reminder …
The tearing of the temple veil was an incredible sign from Almighty God. It symbolized the momentous price He was willing to pay so that we could be forgiven of our sins and have the opportunity to have a personal relationship with Him. When Yeshua died on the cross, it was His ultimate sacrifice that forfeited our debt of sin and made us right with God again. This blessing of salvation is open to all who believe and trust in Him. We have been richly blessed with eternal life and given a new identity in Him by faith; He deems us worthy, not the world. Thank you Lord for this powerful reminder which reminds us of Your immeasurable mercy and grace!
Yeshua our Messiah died on the cross and with His shed blood, He purchased for us forgiveness and eternal life. When He did this, He also fulfilled numerous Old Testament prophecies – one of which was that the Messiah would be “pierced” for us (Zechariah 12:10). The tearing of the veil in the Temple signified the end of the Mosaic covenant and the beginning of a new covenant in which all people can have a personal relationship with God through Yeshua our Messiah. Because of what He did for us, we no longer need to fear God’s wrath or wonder if we are good enough to approach Him. We can now come boldly into His presence because of what Yeshua has done for us.
