Why are you here? What is your purpose in life?

by | Hope Series

God created you for a special purpose!

It’s time to discover what it is!

In the book, Chosen & Crowned, by Grace Reacher (link in Bookstore on website), we get to learn about the women of the Bible. The women that God chose for a specific purpose to help carry out His Master Plan and who played a part in the history of this world. These very women that God selected to share their story played a vital role that marked them forever as those who said, yes, when He called. He specifically included their stories in the Bible to inspire and encourage us as we look to Him for our own purpose to serve Him while we are on this earth.

Everyone God creates is unique and intentionally placed here at a specific time for His purpose. God places us on this earth in the very moment, in the very womb, that He planned from the beginning of time; it is no coincidence. So if you thought He made a mistake and put you in the wrong family, or your were unplanned by your parents, or perhaps you have no family, rest assured that God has prepared for you to be here at this moment in time for a special reason. Are you curious what that might be? Ask Him? Study His Word, He will show you things you did not know. (Jeremiah 33:3) The Holy Spirit is eager to teach you all He wants you to know. (1 John 2:27)

In today’s blog we will visit an excerpt of the Chosen & Crowned book that will, if given the opportunity, inspire you to seek God for a closer relationship and receive all the blessings He has prepared for you.

First things first

Before you discover your purpose, it is important to get your heart right with Jesus. Even though there were times that God may have used a non-believer to help Him, His Master Plan included all along, sending His son Jesus our Messiah to die for our sins so that we could invite Him into our hearts and give our lives to Him. So it’s important to get your heart right with Jesus, then take the next step He has for you.

If Jesus already lives in your heart, it may be a good time to rededicate your life and turn to Him wholeheartedly, walking away from the world and what it has to offer. Many Christians today don’t realize they are worshipping Jesus and the world at the same time. Make sure that’s not you by rededicating your life to Him today.

He loves you more than you know. Please turn to Him today before it’s too late.  It’s simple, really, just do the ABC’s.

Keep it simple. Do the ABC’s and repent today.

  • C: Call on Jesus and repent of your sins and turn back to Him and ask Jesus to show you the way. (Romans 10:9-13, John 14:6)

There is more information about Salvation, Water Baptism, and Baptism of the Holy Spirit on our website under the Good News tab to get you prepared for your walk with Jesus on His path for you.

What’s next?

Now that your heart is right with Jesus, or if it already was, it’s time to walk wholeheartedly with Him  following His commands and loving others. You do not have to be a Bible scholar or expert in the scriptures to spread God’s love. Start with the ABC’s above. Share those with others and help them come to a relationship with Jesus. That is our main purpose! (Mark 12:39-41)

As we are all called to spread God’s love to others, each of us were uniquely created for a special purpose. One that is assigned to you directly from God from the beginning of time. Isn’t that exciting?

Do not be anxious about anything. God is with you wherever you go.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7

If He is sending you, He is going before you and is with you.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:8

No need to fear what to do or what to say. You are the vessel, He will speak through you and work through you to fulfill His plan. (Luke 21:14-15)

Clinging to the Father

When we are in a relationship with our Heavenly Father, He wants us to cling to Him at all times. He doesn’t want us to do life without Him. There is nothing in your life that He doesn’t care about.

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

He will give you rest from all of your worries. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Still unsure about letting go of our worries and clinging to Him? Stand on these promises:

“You must fear the LORD your God and worship him and cling to him. Your oaths must be in his name alone.” Deuteronomy 10:20

“Be careful to obey all these commands I am giving you. Show love to the LORD your God by walking in his ways and holding tightly to him.” Deuteronomy11:22

“Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.” Deuteronomy 13:4

“Rather, cling tightly to the LORD your God as you have done until now.” Joshua 23:8

“I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.” Psalms 63:8

All to often, we slip into the trap of worrying how to fix things or make them right. When you spend all your time and energy worrying about life circumstances, you can’t see and hear God’s promises. The problems in your life are screaming and swarming around your head. God speaks in a whisper because He wants to get your attention. Have you ever noticed when someone is whispering, everyone gets quiet so they can hear what is being said?

God is calling you out of the chaos. He is asking your to give Him all of your cares and He will carry them for you. Once you let go of the cares that are weighing you down, your hands are now free to cling to Him and let Him lead and guide you. Once you give Him your cares you are able to see and hear what He is saying to you. It is then that God can prepare you for your special purpose that He needs you to be the vessel for Him.

When we cling to Him we are safe. That doesn’t mean the chaos goes away. It doesn’t mean that life suddenly becomes smooth sailing. It means that we don’t have to worry or be concerned about the chaos anymore, we can trust Him to take care of all of it while we obey Him and follow His commands.  There is indescribable peace when you put all your hope and trust in Him.

Prayer for your purpose

Now, you are ready for your purpose. Grab your copy of Chosen & Crowned and learn how He used specific women during Bible times that thought they were just ordinary women doing their daily tasks until He whispered their name one day. Let their stories inspire you to draw closer to Him and discover your purpose.

Below is an excerpt from the book. It’s a summary of spiritual gifts He put in each one of them that you may see in yourself. See if you recognize yourself in any of their stories or gifts. It might surprise you to discover how much you have in common with any number of them. It’s okay to pray for God to develop certain spiritual gifts in you. He loves you and wants to bless you abundantly. He wants to spend more time with you. He wants to converse with you about everything in your life and on His mind for you.

His plan and purpose for you is really all that matters. We are but a breath in the span of time in eternity. Make sure you spend that breath of time making an eternal impact for Jesus.

Consider praying like this:
