Was Moses the first one for YHWH to share the Torah with?
There are many theories of when the Torah first made an appearance. Did it begin with Moses and the Ten Commandments, or did it begin sooner?
Who taught Adam, what to do? YHWH.
According to scholar resources, Adam spent seven years with YHWH before eating the forbidden fruit. YHWH was teaching Torah from day one with Adam to pass down from generation to generation.
Genesis 2&3 The Torah (The first five books of the Bible) existed before Moses, before Abraham, before Noah, all the way back to Adam. We read in the Torah where YHWH spoke to Moses on the mountain and gave him the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 5) And all the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. It’s interesting to study the Torah for many reasons, but when you study and realize that the Torah didn’t begin with Moses, it most probably began with Adam, it’s an exciting twist to what we have been taught. Another hidden blessing from YHWH. He has lots of hidden blessings for us, all we need to do is study His word from cover to cover and search them out, He is eager to show us.

There are many theories of when the Torah first made an appearance. Did it begin with Moses and the Ten Commandments, or did it begin sooner? Who taught Adam what to do?
When it comes to the origins of the Torah, there are many different theories. Some say that it began with Moses and the Ten Commandments, while others believe it started even earlier. So who was the first person to receive the Torah from YHWH? And what did they learn from it? Let’s take a closer look at some of the possibilities.
Many people believe that Moses was the first one to receive the Torah from YHWH, but there are other theories about when the Torah first appeared.
God knows the truth and God gave us instructions on how to live. Though many theologians believe that Moses was the first one to receive God’s teachings in the form of the Torah, there are other theories which suggest God initially gave Adam His rules and guidelines. We must explore what God taught Adam, and how he knew right from wrong. Even though God chose to reveal His teachings in writing to Moses on the tablets, we should remember God is always present with us—showing us love, providing guidance for a blessed life, and reminding us of our need for redemption. Does it matter if He taught the Torah to Adam first? Not really. We know He taught Adam everything to do first, then gave the commands in writing to Moses to give to the people to remember forever. Then later after Yeshua’s death, He wrote the Torah commands on our hearts through His Holy Spirit. Regardless, God’s Word is eternal, so we can be reminded of this all throughout scripture; He is always with us, revealing truth and pointing to righteousness.
Theories about when the Torah first appeared range from it being given to Moses at Mount Sinai, to it appearing earlier with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

The Torah is a sacred text that contains the laws and teachings of all YHWH’s followers. Its intended use is for guidance and instruction for our lives.
God has given us a beautiful gift in the form of the Torah. We should be filled with love and gratitude for His Word that gives us truth, answers, and guidance regardless of where we are in our faith journey. It is more than just a book of laws – as it is also jam-packed with messages from God that can shape our lives if we take the time to read its wonderful chapters. God has called us to dig deeper into each passage – not just to study God’s precepts, but also to understand how the entire Bible works together in God’s master plan. As wise King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes ”For everything there is a season” (3:1). God tells us life has its seasons but we must remain closely connected to Him through continual prayer and whole Bible study throughout all times and seasons. The most important thing is to never forget God’s steadfast love throughout it all!
The Torah is an important part of Jewish life and helps Jews connect to their heritage and culture.
God has given us the Torah as a source of truth, love and answers throughout our lives. It is not to be limited to any particular section or application but to be read by God’s followers of all backgrounds in its entirety, for therein lies the whole story of God’s relationship with his people. The Torah provides us access to God’s divine plan for us and shows us both traditional wisdom and insight; God calls his followers–including sojourners and foreigners–to study His Word intensively. Let us therefore begin a journey through the Whole Bible and learn God’s teachings in order that it may provide guidance, protection and blessings throughout our journey through life.
The Torah is an important part of Jewish history and culture. It is a sacred text that contains the laws and teachings of Judaism. The Torah is used for religious guidance and instruction but not meant to replace YHWH’s whole story, the Whole Word of God. It is not about Oral Laws, but God’s laws that He wrote and commanded. The answer as to when the Torah first appeared remains a mystery. This mystery surrounding the origins of the Torah highlights the importance of faith in Judaism. For Messianic believers, this same principle applies to our belief in Yeshua our Messiah. We may not know exactly how or when He will return, but we continue to follow His teachings because we have faith that He will come again. So keep your eyes on Yeshua, study scripture from Genesis 1:1 all the way through Revelation, repent from your sins, turn back to God the Father, and always be ready for His return!
