Grief can be debilitating making it hard to function and breathe. It affects everyone.

Even Christians who are supposed to have it all together and are encouraging others can struggle under this battle.

STOP the scroll and tune in to discover tried and true tips to stop the constant waves of grief and pain that wash over you.

If you are currently struggling with grief from any kind of loss, you are not alone. Grief is a difficult thing to face, no matter who you are or what your circumstances may be. Even faith-filled believers in Yeshua our Messiah, who are supposed to have it all together and be encouraging others, can struggle under the weight of grief. However, there is great news, there is hope! Scripture tells us that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He knows our sorrows and cares for us (Isaiah 53:3). So if you are struggling today, know that God sees you and hears you. He knows your pain and will help you through this difficult time. Lean on Him for strength and comfort as you grieve.

Acknowledge that you are struggling

Trying times can test our faith, making us feel like we don’t have the strength to persist or overcome. But don’t ignore your feelings and don’t run from your pain. Listen to God; not just the opinions of other people. Turn to Him for comfort. Rest in His arms and allow Him to heal you. He promises “never leave us nor forsake us” (Hebrews 13:5) and that we can find strength through any difficulty with the help of His grace (2 Corinthians 12:9). Let His power rebuild you so you can shine as a beacon of hope in this broken world for others who also struggle.

Don’t try to hide it or act like everything is okay

We all go through difficult times in our lives and it’s easy for us to want to go about pretending everything is okay and trying to hide our struggles. But in reality, facing the situation head on can be much more beneficial. Remember that being real and honest with the people around you is essential. Take a step back and ask yourself if burying your pain really provides healing or just a brief escape? Give grace to those who don’t understand your grieving process or pace, be kind to yourself in the process, be realistic with where you are, accept things as they are and learn from them. Everyone grieves differently so make sure you give yourself permission to work through your loss at your own pace, don’t be afraid of facing it head-on while clinging to the Father’s hand.

Seek out help and support from others if necessary

God offers true hope and love that often cannot be found anywhere else. If you are in need of help or support, God is always available to provide answers and understanding. Seek out God through passionate whole Bible study – God speaks through every word of the whole story, and not just a few select verses. Reading the whole Bible can lead to incredible understanding and clarity, with God’s truth bringing light and insight into any questions you may have! Through God we can receive the power that we need to gain the strength to move forward and continue on our journey.

Don’t be afraid to ask Yeshua for help

Yeshua our Messiah is the great answer to our prayers. His truth and love are both unchanging and ever present, He is always there for us in times of need so we should never be afraid to seek His face. We should cling to the Father in all things, trusting that God’s answers are better than ours. To really understand God’s ways, it is important to engage in whole Bible study because understanding God’s story allows us to see God’s place within it and understand how the whole bible is relevant today. It is only through a spiritual journey of reading the entire Bible that we can truly glean God’s message of grace, mercy, peace, love, hope and redemption. Don’t be afraid to reach out to Him – He will provide a path full of answers if you simply take time to listen.

Read scripture and find comfort in God’s word

When it comes to finding comfort in God’s word, He is our way, truth, and life. He is always with us and He gives us answers when we are in need. Wonder how to hear Him speaking to you? Read His word. When we are diligent and purposeful to have a firsthand relationship with Him, He will speak to us through His Word. As He sees our heart of dedication to Him, He will reveal more every time you commit to study. He loves us so much and you will discover how much as you spend time with Him each day. Taking time to study the whole Bible and not just snippets of it is important because any part of scripture will be relevant no matter the situation we find ourselves in. As we read through it, He speaks to our hearts through His words and thus He gives purpose to them all. When we read the entire story of God’s faithfulness, it helps build our trust for it even more. So if you want a renewed sense of peace and comfort, take the time to read God’s word from cover to cover!

Allow yourself time to grieve and process what you are going through

His timing is perfect and His pace peaceful. In His mercy, He carries us through the grief of loss in His way and His time. Don’t allow yourself to become discouraged when your grief cycle repeats; God’s love for you is unchanging and His grace is powerful enough to keep you standing in His presence even through difficult times. His knowledge of what you need is better than yours, so don’t rush His healing process that He has prepared for you. His mercies are new every morning.

You are not alone in your struggles. The Bible is clear that we will face hardships in this life, but we do not have to go through them alone. God promises to be with us always and provides comfort and hope for the future. If you are feeling lost or struggling, take heart – cling to the Father, trust Him, He has a plan for you that you can not see. And know that you are loved by Him more than you could ever imagine.
