Is it possible to find lasting peace in this life?

by | Encountering Love

In this rat race called life,
it is possible to find peace anywhere?

You are daily running from sun up to sun down barely taking a breath and can’t sit still or sleep because your anxiety won’t allow you. With anxiety, there comes a long list of other mental health issues. The world offers so many solutions including medication and a long list of new age practices, but everything is temporary. Is there anything that will take away your anxiety for good and give you lasting peace? Let’s see what God, your creator and the great physician says in His Word.

Why does God not heal my anxiety?

Before Jesus ascended into Heaven He told His disciples that He would send the Comforter that would teach them all things and remind them of what He taught them. That message is for all His followers.

“and the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and remind you of all things that I said to you.” John 14:26 (YLT)

He also said:

“As for you, the Messianic anointing you received from the Father remains in you, so that you have no need for anyone to teach you. On the contrary, as his Messianic anointing continues to teach you about all things, and is true, not a counterfeit, so, just as he taught you, remain united with him.” 1 John 2:27

He is telling you to put all your hope and trust in only Him to teach you and to meet all your needs and not to listen to the world. He doesn’t want you to invest in the offerings of this world to find the help you need; He is not of this world.

When you look to anything other than God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to meet your needs, you are telling them that they are not enough. Your hope and trust is not in them; it’s in yourself and your ability to do what you think is best for you. When you do things your way, then you eventually realize that you have fallen into the trap of trusting what the world has to offer, and not allowing God to care for you; without warning you find that you are stuck in a loop of lies. It takes clinging to God in daily practice allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you to be obedient to His commands in order to find healing, you can’t do it in your own power.

What does God really expect from me?

In God’s Word, the Torah, your instruction book for life, there are countless statements from God in the Torah that are “if/then” statements. He says IF you will obey me, THEN I will do this FOR you. IF you disobey me, THEN I will do this TO you. We give the enemy too much credit for bad things happening. God disciplines His followers, and judges sin. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Very different agendas. Everything God does is out of His love for us, the enemy deceives us to destroy us. Jesus says,

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants. On that Day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord! Didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we expel demons in your name? Didn’t we perform many miracles in your name?’ Then I will tell them to their faces, ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:21-23

In 1 Samuel 15:22, God tells us He prefers obedience over sacrifice. Those scriptures above are loud and clear! Jesus does not care about your sacrifices of serving and tithing if you don’t know Him. He wants a relationship with you. Repent today and turn back to Him.

How will I know if I’m doing something that grieves God?

There are many gifts that God gives His followers; discernment is one of them. People (the world) teach us that we must have “common sense.” There’s nowhere in scripture that God says anything about us needing to have common sense. He does teach us about having wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and a discerning spirit.

“For Adonai gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6 (CJB)

“The fear of Adonai is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of holy ones is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 (CJB)

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)

That’s why it’s so important to study His Word DAILY, His Word is our Daily Bread, NOT “whenever bread”©, it feeds us. When we are spiritually satisfied from being fed His Word daily, then there is no room to hunger for what the world offers. For those who study His Word, they will learn that He is continually leading us towards Him, to humility and obedience through wisdom and discernment.

The world says we need common sense. God says, NOPE, I give wisdom and discernment to my followers so that they know right from wrong. That wisdom and discernment comes through the Holy Spirit in you. You know when the Holy Spirit is telling you not to do something, it’s those uncomfortable moments that you oftentimes decide to push through so you don’t upset the process. It’s those times when you know you shouldn’t do something but you choose to ignore the Holy Spirit and flick Him off like a bug and justify why it’s ok for you to proceed anyway. To ignore the Holy Spirit puts you onto a slippery path. It happens to everyone. All humans are flawed; flawed people need God.

Does God see what I’m doing, or even care?

Scripture says the God sees and hears all, and He knows our hearts. There is NOTHING we can hide from Him. He sees all and knows all. Jeremiah 20:12 is just one example of Him telling us He sees us and tests us. When temptations arise in front of you to do things that are in direct disobedience to His commands, He is testing you to see if you will choose to be obedient to Him, or justify why it’s not that big a deal to disobey Him.

If you want to know if something is ok with God that is offered from the ground, natural resources, or from anywhere in this world, find the scripture that supports you can use it. If you can’t find it, don’t do it. Yes, God gave us plants for our use, but not all plants are for our use. Just like God gave us all animals but not all animals are not meant to be food. As an example, when you study and learn the Torah, you will learn there that God doesn’t consider all things food. When you are in the Torah, observe that we were taught incorrectly about animals getting on the ark two by two? The religious leaders have not taught the whole story. If you missed it, go back to Genesis 6 and start studying that story again.

For you to rely on any plant, or non-plant item to comfort you to help with anxiety, depression, fear, grief, and all mental health issues, is to say that the Holy Spirit is not enough. It’s sin according to God.

In Exodus 20, God teaches the basics of what we are to do in His Ten Commandments (10Cs). Many people say it’s to hard to follow the 10Cs, or, that we aren’t perfect so we can’t possibly follow them, or, I should get credit for following a few. Nope! According to our Creator, it’s not to hard. Think about it, why would our Creator give us rules that were to hard to follow? He’s a loving God, He doesn’t want us to fail.

“For this mitzvah which I am giving you today is not too hard for you, it is not beyond your reach.” Deuteronomy 30:11 (CJB) (Mitzvah = command)

If you are overwhelmed by studying the whole Bible and want to follow God’s commands but don’t know where to start, begin with the 10Cs, start with #4, “observe the Sabbath.” It’s when we observe the Sabbath and rest in Him, that He is able to teach us all truth. The 10C4 is a large paragraph for a reason, because it’s IMPORTANT! In that rest, He will teach you how to observe all Ten.

How do I turn away from my bad habits?

First, repent, asking for His forgiveness, turn away from your sins and back to Jesus, leave all that behind, and follow Him wholeheartedly and willingly. Then, study God’s Word from cover to cover, Genesis to Revelation. Grab one of our journals on our website to help you keep track of everything He is about to start teaching you. You will want to journal because once you go all-in with Him, He will do so much you won’t be able to keep up.

Second, have a firsthand relationship with Jesus. Cease allowing others to tell you what the Word of God says. Get to know your Heavenly Father. He created you, breathed life into you and has set you apart for a special purpose and plan for Him. Once you have a personal relationship with your Heavenly Father and experience His indescribable love and peace, you will find that you no longer need or crave the things of this world.  Then He will bless you to do things for Him, things which He created you to do during your lifetime. He didn’t create you to work all the time to strive for success and get rich. He created you to love Him, obey Him, and spread the Good News for Him, to help Him save lost souls.

Which brings up another point, we are not responsible for the outcome of what He tells us to do. We are responsible for obedience to Him. As an example, if He tells you to share truth with someone, to help lead them back to Him, you are NOT responsible for the success of them turning back to Him, or responsible if they don’t. You are only responsible for being the vessel to allow Him to speak through you. Make sense?

Again, do your own research. Study your Bible cover to cover and ask God what truth is. Commit to not learning about the Bible secondhand anymore through teachers or books, go straight to the Bible and ask God to show you. The Holy Spirit is eagerly awaiting you to allow Him to teach you all things.

“But do test everything—hold onto what is good, but keep away from every form of evil.”
1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

What’s wrong with yoga & meditation, it helps me feel better

I do not claim to be an expert on this subject. I have learned about it through discernment from the Holy Spirit to listen up and realize what this actually is; it’s not exercise but Hindu worship practice. Many Christians and followers of Jesus have fallen into the trap of believing this is okay with God for them to do. It’s NOT!

Pray and allow the Holy Spirit to tell you how He feels about these things. I will defer to an expert, Alan Strudwick for some details to list for you. These can be found on his website and YouTube videos. If you are doing any of these things, stop immediately, repent and pray for God to heal you from the impact and ramifications of this practice.

  • Yoga & meditation
    • Yoga = Hindu worship ushering in demonic gods through each pose
      • Yoga is not exercise, it is Hindu worship practice
      • These poses and practices will manifest in health issues and mental health issues
      • You are literally practicing inviting the demons into you
      • You can NOT focus on Jesus in these practices
      • That’s their plan in luring you to do them
      • “Well, I don’t believe in their “hudu ” I think about Jesus while I’m doing it.”
      • Thinking about Jesus while you do Hindu worship practice, is like telling your spouse that you are thinking about them while you sleep with someone else. Not okay. Danger zone!
      • This is spiritual adultery. (See 10C7 – Exodus 20)
    • Meditation – closing off your mind to listen to the voices that you invite into your mind and body
      • Inviting demonic gods into your body
      • Teaching you there is no devil, only love and peace; (fake love and peace)
      • Teaching that with no enemy, there is no need for a savior from one
    • God says to meditate on His word day and night. Joshua 1:8
      • Meditating on God’s word is you keep your mind open focusing on scripture and what God is trying to teach you.
    • Massages – while they are great, and I love them myself, you would be hard pressed to find a masseuse that does not practice yoga and meditation. Pray about continuing that without God’s permission now that you know the truth. We are responsible to obey truth once we know it.

Alan Strudwick, the former New Age Guru Master, that Jesus saved, said in his online testimony that He chose not to speak to all his other gods for a year to see if Jesus was for real. He only studied about Jesus and only went to Jesus with requests and questions that year. It changed his life. Perhaps consider doing what he did. That’s not to say that you actively worship other gods like he was, only suggesting blocking out what the world has to offer for a year and focus on God’s Holy Word and what He wants to teach you and see how it changes your life. Practice only listening to what God says.

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Psalms 46:10

Rest in His arms and let Him have your full attention. You can do that no matter your schedule in life. God comes first. He is your Daily Bread, He feeds you His “manna.” It’s NOT to hard.

God bless you
